Hi! My name is Kari Minter.
I’m married to Brent, the lead pastor of a rapidly growing church in Ankeny, Iowa. We have 3 teenaged kids who we love cheering on in all their activities, finding fun ways to hang out with them, and convincing them to join me in the numerous ideas and outdoor adventures I like to plan.

I’m incredibly passionate about helping women cultivate a deeper walk with God.
That’s why I write this blog, develop resources, speak at conferences, teach the Bible, write Bible studies, and mentor others!
My Backstory
In college, I decided I wanted to be a missionary to tell others about God. So I picked secondary English teaching as my major ensuring I could find a job teaching English wherever God decided to plant me. The closer I got to reach my goal and college graduation, the more roadblocks God put in my way. This eventually led me to move from Cedar Falls, Iowa to San Antonio, Texas in order to finish my teaching degree.
It’s in San Antonio where I met my husband. When we got married, God detoured my life plan from one of overseas ministry to ministry within the United States and the local church.
And while the ministry life is what I was called to, it wasn’t always what I dreamed it would be.
Shortly after having 3 kids in 3 years, I began to have a crisis of faith. I struggled through the deep things of God. I spent months trying to figure out how God could meet me in this mediocre life I now lived. During this time was when my husband and I developed an online devotional site. It was through this development that I first began practicing spiritual formation. This was when I began discovering what it looked like to truly humble myself before God, and letting Him guide me in every moment of every day. Learning to cultivate this newfound freedom and dependence in Christ took work.
I spent the next few years out of formal ministry and focused on pursuing God.
I set goals, memorized books of the Bible, wrote, met with mentors, deep-dived into spiritual formation studies, and I came out of that season a changed woman. Finally, I was experiencing the abundant life and God’s continual presence even in the mundane moments/seasons of my life.
My journey has given me a passion to help women find this freedom. This desire to help others cultivate a deeper relationship with God is why I write Bible studies, mentor, teach and speak, create content, graduated from seminary with a Masters in Theological Studies, and have developed this space. I pray it creates the path you need to fully experience the life with God He desires for you.
