I’m embarking on a new adventure in a few weeks….teaching theology to a group of women.
I normally stick with more expository teaching. Granted, there’s plenty of theological teaching in the midst of teaching through a book of the Bible BUT the focus is a bit different.
But this time, I felt God nudging me to do something a bit different with the women at church, and I’ll be honest. I’m a bit nervous.
Nervous I will misrepresent the beliefs of the church.
Nervous I will misrepresent God.
Nervous I will be unable to communicate effectively what all God desires us as women to understand.
But in the midst of all the nerves, I know this is good. I know this is the right next step.
So for the next few months, I’ll be writing through my journey as I prepare to teach theology. Teaching always refines me, and I think this journey will be no different. I just started this morning really digging into the authenticity and sufficiency of Scripture and had to stop several times and have some conversations with God. But that’s for another post. This post is simply to invite you into the journey.
The women in our church will be going through “Christian Beliefs” by Wayne Grudem for 6 weeks beginning in February and if you are local and want to join us, I will gladly send you all the info.
If you’re not local but want to follow along with us, I’ve written a study guide that I will share in a few weeks and will also link weekly to all the audio teachings here.
If there’s enough of you, maybe we can even start a little private group so we can chat together about ALL the questions and thoughts we have! There will also be a daily scripture reading plan to help us read through scripture as we study theology. The method we will be using as we read scripture is called the R.O.A.D.
