Life the last few months has been overwhelming, the political atmosphere has been exhausting, the pandemic news has been upsetting, and the continual unpredictability of life has just worn us out.
When we are worn out, our thoughts tend to spiral.
It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to stop your mind from spiraling out of control, succumbing to worry, or feeling anxious UNLESS you replace those thoughts with something else.
The best “something else” I’ve found is scripture.
I’ve created an easy way for you to retrain your mind to remember God throughout your day. And yes, it takes a little effort to retrain your mind, but the reward is so worth it!
As the holidays approach and #2020 continues forward, let’s use the month of November to intentionally replace our worry and anxiety with God’s Word!
The Plan:
- Enter your info in the form at the bottom of this post to receive the 4-week memory verse challenge cards.
- Print these cards or simply download it to your phone’s lock screen
- Every time you feel your mind start to go down a wrong path, stop, take a breath, and start memorizing/meditating on this verse instead

Replace the “old” thoughts with something life-giving and new
When the Bible talks about transforming your mind and setting your mind on heavenly things, scripture memory is one easy way to do this! Instead of just getting mad at yourself for worrying or letting your mind spiral, simply replace those thoughts with the word of God. Plus, this is something the whole family can do together! It just might be your new favorite Thanksgiving tradition.
It’s simple yet POWERFUL!
If you’re joining in on this scripture memory challenge, will you let me know? Simply comment below with “I’m in” and I’ll add you to my daily prayer list! Even if you’re not joining in, let me know how to pray for you! It truly is a joy for me to pray specifically for you.
I’m excited to memorize scripture this month. With a little effort, we can use God’s Word to change our minds and hearts as we walk into the holiday season.
Much love,
Kari
