It’s that time of year again! Time for my very favorite Christmas tradition. And Christmas 2018 did not disappoint!
Our 9-year tradition
This started as a random idea 9 years ago but has become a family favorite. Each year, we plan the day out, the kids cancel activities if something might interfere with making this video, and we all jump in. I’m just waiting for the year when one of them realizes they could make a better video than their momma can! I’m sure that year is coming, but for now we all have fun making these videos together. Christmas 2018 proved to just as fun as the previous years and serve as a lasting memory for the entire family.
Our Christmas Card
Once upon a time, I wrote Christmas cards and mailed them. Somewhere along the time when we got rid of nap times, this video became our family’s Christmas card. We pray this “Christmas card” can put a smile on your face as it does ours, and we truly hope you all have a Merry Christmas as you celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Walking down memory lane is one of our favorite things about this tradition. There’s just something heartwarming about watching the kids grow up, our family change, and our love for each other over the years. It also makes me appreciate the time with the kids more. Watching Justus in the high chair the first year of the video and realizing how fast these years have flown by since then makes me more apt to put down my work and find the space to invest in my kids. These videos do more for preparing my heart for the season than most anything else =). I hope you enjoy!!
