One of my very favorite Christmas traditions is this one. And I can’t believe Christmas 2015 has arrived and it is time to start this tradition!
Our 6-year old tradition
We first started doing this tradition when Avery had just turned 4, Elliana was 2, and Justus was 9 months old. It is crazy to look back over the years and see how much life has changed. I could never have imagined our life as it is today all those years ago when we started filming these! Thankfully God has always known what our future holds and has led us faithfully over the years. I’m also thankful my husband had the idea to start this tradition when the kids were so little! I just treasure these videos!

Before we set up our tree, we now always sit down together and watch the videos from all the previous years. The kids laugh at themselves, and I get reminded about how fast time has gone and how little they once were. It’s a pretty fantastic start to our Christmas season.
Each kid has their favorite year too. There’s the year where we leave the camera and Justus unravels all the lights. Or the year that Elliana makes her stuff animals tell the camera Merry Christmas. Or the year Avery dances a complete ballet show for the camera instead of putting any ornaments on the tree.
Each video reminds us of memories we would have otherwise forgotten. So thankful for the technology and idea to be able to document these moments.
